Razzle Dazzle with glitz

IMG_9136 Couldn't be easier, have you noticed that I often do the straight forward easy cards.  Not everyone has TIME to spend on a card that needs to get into the mail.  This is just that type of card, elegant, simple, EASY, and QUICK!

Supplies"  Stamp Sets:  Razzle Dazzle and Teeny Tiny Wishes;  Inks:  Versamark; Card Stock:  Soft Suede, Brushed Gold and Whisper White to line the inside of the card (I just about ALWAYS put a piece of neutral card stock inside for the message, cute little stamp and hand written note to be put on.  Accessories:  Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Brands, dimensionals, heat tool.  See, not even too many supplies to get out and to put away.

The Last of the Circus (For Now)

Once I started putting ink on the rubber stamps in the Circle Circus stamp set, it had me.  I love all of the different looks you can get with this one set.  Every time you stamp you come up with something different - I love that.  I have saved my favorite for last.  It is one of the easiest cards too. I hope you like this one as much as I do, if you do, go ahead and leave me a comment.  I feed on these comments by the way.

IMG_9145 Well, that would be the Circle Circus.  I had so much fun with this Stamp Set.  This is my second most favorite card using this set, I'm saving my favorite for last.

It just couldn't be any easier - The card is made with Soft Suede - don't you just LOVE this color?  Maybe I should paint my whole house this color!  Dusty Durango is layered on top of the Suede and then the Whisper White panel is stamped all over with ONE of the Circles from Circle Circus - in Jet Back StazOn and colored with the new IN COLOR MARKERS (cheer, cheer, cheer for these great assets to the new Stampin' Up! catalog!  A length of Dusty Durango stripe topped with Crushed Curry strip that took a turn going through the paper crimper and lastly MORE DOTS on the Soft Suede Polka Dot grosgrain Ribbon.  This card is dressed and ready for ANY OCCASION!

Lauren and the Fire Engine

IMG_9164 On my last trip to Phoenix to visit my daughter and her family, I told my 2 year old granddaughter when I left, that I would send her 3 Fire Engine Pictures.  So, good to my word, they went into the mail this week and she has received them.  She LOVES looking at pictures and even better if they have her in them.

My sister Jill, is a Fire Fighter in Seattle.  Last year on a visit that included my daughter and her family we stopped by Jill's station and she posed for the center picture that included Lauren, at that time nearly one year old.  I knew that Lauren didn't quite get it, but I knew that she would one day in the future.  Last month while I was visiting my sister I had the opportunity to put myself in the drivers seat- see me in the picture on the right AND can you believe I was even wearing a Fire Engine Red t-shirt!!!??!  The picture on the left is my sis, of course, and because she was on duty, she was dressed in her uniform (hmmm.... I wonder if she would have worn Fire Engine Red if she wasn't in her uniform?).

OK, you probably mainly stopped by to see what you can do with Rubber Stamps and Paper crafting, so I am getting to that.

I used a retired Stamp Set (just couldn't part with it because of Jill being a Fire Fighter) and here is the cover of this tri-fold picture display:

IMG_9163 And here is the back page (Lauren LOVES dogs):

IMG_9167And lastly so you can see how it all folds up together here is another picture (sorry it is a teeny bit blury).  I don't have any directions for this.  But will mention that the core of it is the cardboard backing that comes in my Stampin' Up! DSDP and the inside pages have lots of layers making it very sturdy and stands up very well.  Because Lauren will be handling it, I made the spine of each of the sections out of 5/8" grosgrain ribbon, giving it lots of flexibility!  All was put together with Sticky Strip, some SNAIL and even some Glue Stick to adhere the bottom layers of card stock to the light weight card board.

FAUX Wood Grain Frame

IMG_9171 Making faux wood grain is really not all that hard.  It is a matter of selecting your card stock and your ink colors - several, and then dragging the edge of the ink pad accross the card stock.  For this wood grain frame, I started with Pretty In Pink card stock and ink colors used were, creamy caramel Dye ink, sahara sand Dye ink and white CRAFT ink.  I sponged around the inner edges with Sahara Sand and the outer edges of the frame with Close to Cocoa.

Supplies:  Stamp Set:  Fun and Fast Notes;  Card Stock:  Rose Red, Pretty in Pink, Sahara Sand, Whisper white and Watercolor card stock.  Inks:  Jet Black StazOn, Sahara Sand, Creamy Caramel, white Craft, Close to Cocoa, and Rose Red; Accessories, 1/16" hole punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Rose Red Grosgrain ribbon, Vintage Brads, Wheel Handle and "Perfect Fit" regular wheel, Blender Pen and H2O Crayons.

There is a great tutorial on Splitcoast http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/fauxwood/

I omitted using the embossing on the wood grain.

Raspberry Lemonade

IMG_9146 One of the supplies I used for this card was a piece of the Raspberry Lemonade DSDP AND I overstamped it with three of the circles from the stamp set "Circle Circus".  I still haven't showed you my favorite card/s I made with this set, so stay turned they are coming.  I wish there was more time in each day!

I'm off to make up a pan of Chicken Parmigan for tonight's dinner.  My brother-in-law from Gig Harbor, WA and my son from Philly will be here for dinner and I try to get anything done ahead that I can so I can enjoy the company.

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Circle Circus and On Your Birthday; Card Stock:  Crushed Curry, Rich Razzleberry and Razzleberry Lemondade DSDP; Ink:  Rich Razzleberry; Accessories:  Crushed Curry Polka Dot Grosgrain Ribbon and Jumbo 5/8" White Brad.

Circle Circus

IMG_9148 This is a FUN and VERSATILE stamp set.  I started with a couple of cards and then just wanted to keep going!  Did I mention yesterday that there were 10 different circles in this set - and I have only used 2 of them so far.  I haven't even showed you my favorite card yet that I made with four of the circles - and it is by far the easiest one probably.

Supplies:  Stamp Sets:  Circle Circus, Fundamental Phrases; Card Stock:  Rich Razzleberry, Basic Black, Whisper White, and Razzleberry Lemonade DSDP; Ink:  Jet Black StazOn, White Gel Pen, In Color Markers (YEP, this year Stampin' Up! is offering markers to match the In Colors - YIPPEE!!!!); Accessories:  Dimensionals, Scallop Circle Punch, Melon Mambo Polka Dot Grosgrain ribbon - I am loving this ribbon!

A Little Stamping!

IMG_9133 Actually, I have been up to a LOT of stamping in the last three days.  After returning home, I hit into my NEW stamp sets from the new catalog - I made over 25 samples!  Whew, fun, but I'm not sure if I have any ideas left to do any more stamping with.

Anyway, I have a lot of ideas to share, now I just need the time to write the posts up and share them with you.

Here is a very simple card made with the new Stamp set "Circle Circus".  I only used one of the TEN circle designs in the set.  I love the graphic way this turned out.  It is a very gender neutral set.

Other supplies used are:  Stamp Sets:  "Teeny Tiny Greetings" (as well as Circle Circus); Card stocks:  Basic Black, White; Ink:  Basic Black; Accessories:  1" circle punch, 1 1/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" square punch, and Basic Black grosgrain Ribbon.

I have been away.......

... and I hope that you haven't even noticed or missed me!  I try very hard to keep my posts up while away, it's when I return home that things bog down a bit with all there is to do with arriving home.  I have only been gone for TWO weeks this time and it was for a great reason.  We have finally made a move, we have closed on a home and moved in to it and it is quite close to where our grand babies (and daughter and son-in-law) live.  We love our new home and the vegetation it has.  We are still located outside of Philadelphia as our primary residence, but I spend a lot of time in Arizona, hence the second home there.

Here is one of our cactuses in our front yard and a close up of one of the beautiful blossoms on it (turns out that the blossom only lasts for one day, and be live me it is hardly even one day, so you need to be quick to get a picture of it).  I think the blossom is beautiful!

IMG_9131 Hey if you know the name of this cactus, leave me a comment, I would love to learn more!
